Introduction to The Coastline to Lisbon, Estoril & Sintra Golf Coast

When you land at Lisbon International Airport, you are only 20 minutes drive from the Estoril and Sintra Golf Coast. The southern part of the coast stretches from the seaside resort of Carcavelos along to Estoril and Cascais. This area has an exceptionally mild climate and is widely regarded as the Portuguese Riviera. The rich and famous flock here from all over the world to unwind on the beautiful coastline with its palm fringed esplanades and its casino, the biggest in Europe.

Most of the area's hotels, restaurants, bars and nightclubs are in the lively towns of Estoril and Cascais. If the hotel or Golf Course that you are looking for is not listed on our website this is only due to restricted space. Please therefore call us for a quotation as we have contracts with the majority of properties and courses.

Quinta Da Marinha Golf Resort

This is a superb golf course and a recent addition to golf in this area. The course has been planned to take into account the natural landscape of the forests within this region, the pine trees, the sand dunes and views over the Atlantic Sea.

The routing is a continuous loop of holes, similar to some of the links courses in Scotland. Distant views over the Atlantic Ocean and the nearby hills of Sintra are distinguishable from every hole. Every hole offers you a unique experience that is known as the Quinta Da Marinha Oitavos Golfe.

Aroeira I and II
Par 72

These popular courses are sheltered by pine trees and set in the beautiful estate south of the River Tagus.

Aroeira I is nicknamed the Wentworth of Lisbon due to the dense woodland. Aroeira II is a similar design and layout although there are more bunkers and lakes to contend with requiring more accurate golf.

MONTADO
Opened in 1995, Montado is a Florida-style course. There is very little natural vegetation here however the course offers undulating fairways, plenty of sand and water hazards to make up a very interesting course.

BELAS
A relatively new course, Belas is situated in the Sintra hills. Belas is a wonderful course with five lakes to help to focus your mind. The second hole is one to look out for as it is often compared to the thirteenth at Augusta. A favourite for golfers!

QUINTA DO BRINCHAL
Previously known as Golden Eagle, this course is seen as one of Lisbon’s finest. Although Quinta do Brinchal is situated north of the main tourist areas it is well worth the drive as there are a profusion of bunkers and water hazards that are ready to capture any wayward shots that come their way.

RIBAGOLFE I AND II
Located south of Lisbon, within a cork forest are the Ribagolfe courses. New courses to the area, Ribagolfe I is a championship challenge while Ribagolfe II is a club design. Both have a distinct Valderrama feel and blend harmoniously with the peaceful and natural surroundings. Two for the ‘must play’ list this year!
