Introduction to Tenerife

Tenerife is the most popular of the Canary Islands with excellent year round temperatures. The island is divided North and South with very different climates between the lush north and the dry and sunny south.

In the south the resorts are more lively with an abundance of restaurants and bars. The resorts in the north are less busy than the south of the Island but still offer plenty of choice of restaurants and bars.

Golf Las Americas
This golf course opened in 1988 in the south of the island. The course offers a group of lakes and water filled ravines. This is a lovely course to play and ideally situated for many hotels in the area.

Golf Del Sur
This Tenerife Golf course has a thoroughly enjoyable layout in which one attention is immediately drawn to the black volcanic sand in the bunkers and the wide fairways. Particularly difficult is the 3rd hole on the north course. To the right of the wide fairway is a water hazard, behind which lies an impressive ravine, while to the left is a gaping bunker of black sand.

Amarilla Golf
From the 1st tee, you will discover the spectacular views. Following on to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th holes that are surrounded by a variety of typical canarian shrubbery.

The most impressive part of the round reaches its peak at the 5th hole: this is truly a gem for golf lovers, where the seas becomes a fairway, making it necessary to cross it in order to reach the green!

Golf Costa Adeje
Only five kilometres from Playa de las Americas, the first eighteen of the total of 27 holes occupies and area of eight hundred thousand square metres.

On the whole, the greens are generously sized and the course has been designed with equal numbers of 3, 4 and 5 par holes and starts with a long par 5.

Tecina Golf - La Gomera
This course is situated on the island of La Gomera. The course has been designed for tranquillity, peace and relaxation. The course is situated only two kilometres outside of Playa Santiago on the road from San Sebastian de la Gomera. There are a range of daily flights and ferry crossings from Tenerife.

There are no buildings of any kind on the course so as to ensure uninterrupted views of the sea, the mountains and plant life. This is a course worth a visit!

Buenavista Golf
This course is on the extreme North West part of the Island in the area known as Isla Baja. This part of Tenerife is characterised by a mild climate.

The golf course is surrounded by the Teno Mountain range, a natural protected area and the Atlantic Ocean.

The 18 hole, a 72 par course is 6019 metres long and pivots on the Clubhouse, with its impressive view from all the terraces to the course and the backdrop of the Ocean.

Many of the holes you play here are next to the sea and the greens of five holes are close to the small cliffs on the rocky coastline, where the waves break creating a remarkable beautiful sight. At some holes one seems to hit the ball right into the ocean.

Even if you don’t stay in this area, it is worth the journey to play here!
